Individual sessions are for adults who want to explore in depth what is troubling them and how they handle it. Sessions take place in person at the office in Kamatero (Gerovouno) or online, with psychologist and psychotherapist Maria Panagiotakou.
What individual therapy is
Individual psychotherapy is a process of meetings between you and the therapist, in a confidential setting. Through conversation and the therapeutic relationship, you look at thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour as they appear in daily life and in your relationships.
Maria's work is based on the Integrative Model of Systemic Psychotherapy. A systemic view sees a person within the relationships and settings they live in, such as family, partner, work and friendships, rather than in isolation from them.
Topics you can bring
- Emotional and interpersonal difficulties
- Anxiety, stress and panic attacks
- Self-image and self-esteem
- Family relationships
- Self-awareness and emotional self-regulation
- Communication and social skills
You do not need a specific "problem" to start. Some people come because they are going through a difficult period, others because they want to know themselves better.
Getting started
In the first meeting you get to know each other, talk about what brings you and discuss how working together could look. More on the How I work page.
